Shadows of Kindness  The Umbrella Project

No one should have to battle the scorching sun just to survive. Every summer, street vendors, rickshaw pullers and elderly labourers work long hours under a relentless sky.

The problem

Outdoor workers cannot afford the simple luxury of shade — and pay for it with their health.

Our response

Each year we distribute sturdy, high-quality umbrellas — moving shelters and symbols of respect for people who spend their days outdoors.

Who we reach

Street vendors, rickshaw pullers, traffic volunteers and elderly labourers in Dhupguri.

How it works

Simple. Direct. Together.

  1. 01

Umbrellas are distributed in markets and along main roads before peak summer.

  2. 02

Priority to vendors, rickshaw pullers, traffic volunteers and elderly labourers.
